Susan Elena stumbled into dance at the tender age of 2, quickly adapting to the many different styles she studied. She was one of only 2 Scots to be nominated for a BATD scholarship in Modern Dance and received many honours from examiners. By the age of 15 she was lead dancer with Projekt 11:92, performing at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Cottiers Theatre and on STV's It's Not Just Saturday as backing dancer for Peter Andre and MN8. Susan also enjoyed a brief spell in Muscial Theatre, performing as Durla in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and as a dancer in Singing in The Rain at the King's Theatre, Glasgow. She then went on to train at University College Chichester where she attained a BA (Hons) Dance and became a Member of the BATD in Stage. Since returning to Glasgow in 2002, Susan has spent her time travelling across Scotland delivering dance workshops to people of all ages and abilities as well as choreographing work for Blaze and FireBox. Susan has undertaken projects for the following organisations: In 2007 Susan embarked upon a tour of the US, taking daily dance classes, before returning to Scotland to commence an MSc Screendance. Her MSc now completed she is enjoying combining her loves of danc and film. |
